The EXO-1400 has a clever pump system that uses a large red button in the chin section to rapidly inflate a bladder on either side; the idea is that the helmet should be easier to get on, but once inflated the area just above the opening can seal more tightly against your jaw. The helmet should sit on the head evenly with the eye port's upper edge sitting just above the eyebrows and have good peripheral vision available to see side-to-side Our Helmets are sent out in Brand New boxes, items clearly damaged in transit should not be accepted as once signed for, are accepted as delivered complete and undamaged . Some Brands have specific Medium sizes, for example Roof, which can give a very accurate fit if you are that size, for example : If you are generally happy with the fit, leave the helmet on for a good length of time to ensure it is not pressing in places that are not immediately apparant. If a helmet is really pressing on your forehead this can sometimes cause a headache over time so it may be worth trying another size or brand. However, things that are not so great are that the drop down tinted visor is not dark enough and produces a horrible glare, its more of a dark grey smoke which is not that nice to look through, I wish I could get a darker drop down for it. My Schuberth and Shark have dark tint drop downs and do not produce the glare. The other thing that is not so good is the wind noise, it is much louder around the ears where they have left open spaces for people to put speakers in, really it needs to be filled with padding to cancel the sound. The Scuberth and Shark are both much quieter. The American based company is relatively new to the UK market and has made a strong impact with the quality of its products. Features such as the Airfit system, which allows you to add pressure on the cheek pads, and their sprung visor mechanisms which help the visor seal against the shell keeping noise and drafts to a minimum all point to a quality product. In practice, the effectiveness of this will depend very much on the shape of your face; I found the Scorpion grips naturally well around the bottom of my head, and inflating the sides just added a little unwanted pressure. Noise might be reduced a little for some riders, but I didn’t notice a difference.
