About this deal

Compared with the overall weight of your other hardware, would you say that it really is that much lighter? For the past 5+ years or so I’ve used a combination of DW and Yamaha. Yamaha hi-hat, snare stand and bass drum pedals. All my cymbal stands are DW flat based 6700 & 6710 series stuff. The DW stuff has taken a beating and certainly looks like it but it still works. The Yamaha stuff still looks brand new and performs flawlessly. The Classic series is made from high-quality steel, which is lighter than traditional hardware. The Classic series features a vintage look, with a polished chrome finish that complements any drum set. One of the main benefits of the Classic series is its durability. Despite its lightweight design, the hardware is built to last and withstand the rigors of touring and heavy use. Pearl is another well-known brand in the drumming world, and its lightweight hardware sets are popular among drummers. Pearl offers several lightweight hardware sets, including the Ultralight series and the Demon series.

Tama lightweight hardware sets offer affordability, durability, and adjustability. The Roadpro and Classic series are great options for drummers on a budget, while the Star series offers higher-end options. However, Tama hardware is primarily designed to be used with Tama drum sets, so compatibility may be an issue with other drum brands or configurations. Yamaha really pulled out all the stops with their Crosstown Hardware. Through years of research and development designed to discover just how light you could make a stand without losing the stability a professional drummer requires. The cymbal stands, well, they go pretty high, and they go pretty low too. They do what you’d expect of a straight stand. But, herein lies a small problem for me… With the increase in popularity of lightweight and flush base stands, Yamaha have launched their new range of light hardware. The DW 6000 Series is another popular lightweight hardware set. It is made from aircraft-grade aluminum, which makes it incredibly lightweight and durable. The hardware features a sleek design, with a polished chrome finish that looks great on stage.

Compared with the overall weight of your other hardware, would you say that it really is 50% lighter? Another benefit of Tama lightweight hardware is its price point. While some Tama hardware sets can be more expensive, the Roadpro series and Classic series offer affordable options for drummers looking for quality lightweight hardware. I was never concerned about stability. But wondered about wear to the inside of the stands down tube. How the aluminum would hold against the forces. In my nightmare's, I envisioned it splitting open from the inside. A drum equivelant of the classic scene from Alien. Notwithstanding this though, overall the stands do have some cool features to them and being able to ‘convert’ the cymbal stands to a two-piece design (from three) is a great idea as it obviously makes things even lighter. As you’ll also see from the video, the base will fit Yamaha tom arms too (again because they share all the same pipe diameters). The hihat stand is fairly no-frills but is smooth and functional. The legs come out a good distance and so everything is stable and its height adjustment I found to be more than adequate both high and low.

Customer Reviews

Not having a boom option won’t be an issue for some players and that’s great, but I need one for my own setup situation and I’d guess I’m not alone with on that one.
